Oogemah Ikwewok, Musicians

Oogemah Ikwewok is a group of traditional women who value keeping their culture and languages alive through their music and songs. Oogemah Ikwewok's goal is to give back to the community through their gift of music.
Oogemah Ikwewok sing ceremony, spiritual and round dance songs. 99% of the songs that they sing are original compositions from members of their group. They also have been gifted songs from members of the community. These include Peter Paresian, David Boulanger, and Kevin Chief (Ottawa).
Their music includes the Anishinabemowin, Cree, Dakota and Algonquin languages.
